Cricut and Vinyl first timer

I've had my Cricut Expression 2 for a while now....maybe 2 years. But I have only used it a handful of times 😔, I know, I know, sad!  Well I recently got into it again and want to make things to sell and make some extra cash.  My husband and I are on a set incomes so this will help pay off some medical bills.  I've been practicing with vinyl. Not to difficult but still getting the hang of it.  I made a few cups with initials on them, a wine class with an initial and first name.  I also made a vase for my mom that says "If God is for us, who can be against us", well let me tell you that came out horrible! I should have cut each word separately buuttt I didn't....oops! It doesn't look too too bad, I guess.

The picture isn't great. But there it is. It was a difficult vase to work with since it was curved in in the middle. I also had a difficult time with the dollar tree brand contact paper I used to transfer the vinyl. It's called Clear Magic Cover.  It would not pick up the cut out letters! So frustrating!  Thankfully I had some Contact paper brand in my stash 😅! Worked MUCH better! I used the dollar tree brand on the first wine glass I made and had no issues with it...but don't use it for bigger projects.

Here is a picture of the wine glass I made.  I currently only have baby blue, baby pink, black and dark blue vinyl, so I'm practicing with what I have.  I liked the wine glass but I know it would have looked much better with different colors and different fonts.  I ordered 20 different colored vinyl sheets from eBay, so hopefully that comes soon.  My computer is horrible so I couldn't access other fonts from Cricut.  Again, just working with what I have.

Good news is I recently ordered the new Cricut Explore Air!  Woohoo!  Can't wait to get it! The fact that I will be able to use my iPad to design is awesome since my computer is out of service 😒.  I love using my iPad for everything so the face that Cricut designed it this ways is great!

I will post my future ventures with my Cricut machines in the future and let y'all know what tips and trick I learn along the way.

Thanks for stopping by! Take care and God bless!

First week of school!

So this Monday,  August 26th was the first day of school! Cristians' first day of school ever! He was so excited to go that I never imagined he would cry.  Well he did...not very much, mostly just the teary eyed and pouty face...plus huged me tight :-(. Needles to say I was a little teary eyed myself.  His teacher said he was fine after we left so that helped.  He only went Monday, Tuesday half day and Friday was his first full day.  He road the bus today (Friday) for the first time with Alyssa, and he loved it!  I am very excited that he is going to school already!  He comes home super happy telling me how his day went.

Evelynn and Alyssa are veterans now! And they were happy to go back also.  Time flies!!!  I keep thinking to myself "Man, I have a 7th, a 4th and a pre-ker!" I'm getting old! Not to mention Evelynn is pretty much as tall as me so I know she will pass me here real soon.   Alyssa is all about looking cute like her regular self, haha, love it!

So the first week of school was a success. Let's see how next week goes!

I got my Real Estate License!!!

Yay!!! I passed my real estate exam last Wednesday August 14th 2013! I was very nervous about it. The first time I took it back in 07 I passed it on the first try...and I did the same this time around!  I decided to join the Keller Williams Southwest Market Center here in Austin.  I have been going through their training program for the past month and I am loving it.  Their training program offers a great deal of knowledge and ideas on how to make it in this business.  I wish I would have chosen them when I did real estate back in 07-08.  I'm sure things would have been way different now.  But hey, can't dwel on the past...everything happens for a reason right?  I am anxious to get going and pray to God I'm successful.  Let's see how it works out for me.

It's also that time of year...first day of school is near!  My kiddos start school on Monday!  Evelynn starts 7th grade, Alyssa starts 4th grade and Cristian starts pre-k.  Man time flies! I can't believe all my monkeys will be in school already.  I usually thrift shop for them but I decided to let Alyssa chose a few shirts.  Evelynn has to wear white polo shirts and I already bought them jeans at the thrift store (huge money saver and great finds).  Alyssa is so girly its funny! She is a little fashioniesta, it's too cute.  I hope they all enjoy this coming school year :-)

Let's see how our next life adventure brings us! Praying for the best.

Long time absence

It has been what seems as years since I have been here! I totally forgot I had a blog! Haha! Man there has been so much going on. My kiddos are getting so big now :0(! Evelynn turned 12 this year, Alyssa turned 9 and Cristian turned 4! Cristian starts pre-k in August! I'm excited that he gets to start learning at school. Evelynn starts 7th grade and Alyssa starts 4th! It's crazy how time goes by.

I have been through a lot as well. First off I decided to leave my job in June of 2012. I starter a home daycare and realized that it was just not for me. But the good thing was I was able to be home with the kiddos. I did a lot of soul searching about what the next faze of my life will be. I prayed a lot about what I should do next.

Back in 2008 I got my real estate license and sold about 4 homes while doing it part time. I didn't have much help with becoming successful and once I got pregnant with Cristian I couldn't afford to keep it up. Thankfully we are currently financially able for me to jump in full time in real estate.  I am going to reactive my license!  I am hoping and praying that I am successful this time around. I am going to dedicate myself full time and choosing a broker that offers training and support to help me be successful. I have a lot of faith in God that this is what I am meant to do with myself.  I hope to help others and my family :0).  I am super excited for what's to come.

I hope it all works out out for me and our family. Hopefully I will keep up with blogging hehe!

Dora and Diego practice cake

Ok, so there is no Diego or Dora on this cake but for my kids birthday I will make it with the figurines. Since I had icing and a cake I decided I would practice on a smaller scale to make the rocks, trees and road. I wanted to try making the the water pond but I didn't want to waist my piping gel. I grabbed a toy from my son's toy box, washed it, and put on the gram cracker pathway LOL! My kids haven't seen it since I made it when they went to bed...since that's when I have down time :0) I hope they will like it. My husband, parents and brother said it was nice but they don't count since they love me hehehe!

The cake I will be making for their birthday party will be bigger and will have a mountain made of cake. I will post pictures of those after the birthday party. If you have any suggestions please leave me a comment :0)

Easter Egg Cake

I tried making an Easter egg cake and it came out pretty good....other then the fact that some of the icing I used was royal icing I had left over from my cake decorating class. But it looked so, so. I needed to do my stripes a lot straighter but my hand was really sore. I'm hoping that the more I practice the better I get :0) The kids loved it so that was a big plus!

Wedding pictures 3/26/11

This was about 3 weeks ago for a wedding we went to. This was the first time the baby stayed up as late as he did...10:30 pm! They all had a blast! The girls and the baby danced their butt off! It was nice watching them dance the night away! Jesse and I also enjoyed the wedding. These pictures are very blurry :0( but they were taken with my phone, sorry. Congratulations to Jazmin and Johnny I wish them all the best! May God bless them.
